JUNGLE AND PUCAYAQUILLO WATERFALLS
The access to the Pucayaquillo waterfalls is through a path (1.8 km) totally surrounded by jungle, which will allow us to know, in a pleasant botanical walk, a large number of plants and trees representative of the forests of Tarapoto…
From pioneer trees and palms to hardwood forest species. Epiphytic plants such as lianas, vines and climbers. Medicinal plants and resins used to coat and polish native pottery. We will come across brightly colored dart frogs, rows of curuhuinsis carrying cut leaves and, of course, the “respected” isula ants. The final prize is an invigorating swim in the crystalline waters of the waterfall, contemplating the dance of a morpho butterfly, with its electric blue, among a lush green.

SAUCE BLUE LAGOON
The Laguna de Sauce, or Blue Lagoon, is the most popular tourist destination in Tarapoto. To reach it, since there is no bridge over the Huallaga, the river crossing, the ‘chimbada’, is done on wooden platforms seated on boats. The ascent to the lagoon offers beautiful views of the river, at the curve known as Punta del Gallinazo…
And the arrival in Sauce is spectacular! In Sauce we will have a day of walking and relaxing by the lagoon, stopping at the best beaches for swimming. The Blue Lagoon is a beautiful mirror of water surrounded by green hills. On the shores of the lagoon the local population is dedicated to fishing. Precisely the catches they catch from their canoes are the ones that will later be served on the plate; in Sauce the fish is always fresh.
